Description: Color pinkish red over entire body, whitish below, long triangular snout, anal fin is sharply pointed, no dark lateral spot, red eye
Where Found: Juvenile red snapper are generally over sandy or mud bottoms
Size: Between 1½ and 10 pounds although fish in the low 30-pound range are not rare

Remarks: Snappers will take soft-bodied jigs, bucktails and spoons. Adult red snapper may live more than 20 years and attain 35 pounds or more.
